In October of 2007, Oprah Winfrey brought one man’s lecture, his last, to the attention of a nation, as she most famously often does. For it was only one month prior, that Carnegie Mellon University computer science professor Randy Pausch delivered what would become his ‘last lecture’ titled, “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams” to a mostly student audience of over 400 people.

On July 25, 2008, Randy succumbed to the pancreatic cancer he battled so long, yet his message and legacy about “How to Live Your Life” carries with it timeless qualities that will continue to inspire and motivate many for generations to come.

Randy’s lecture has become a phenomenon as did the book he wrote based on the same principles, celebrating the dreams we all strive to make realities.

Below is the ten-minute video reprise popularized on the Oprah Show along with references to Randy’s official Last Lecture website and a link to the transcript of the complete 104-minute speech delivered to that original Carnegie Mellon audience.
